Heal Pain Heal Pain My first visit to the Center for Preventive Medicine was to get some relief from the heel pain I had been experiencing for quite awhile. In talking with
Dr. Tad, I learned that not only could acupuncture help with pain, but could also cure other medical problems. At the time, I was on medication to control cholesterol. High Cholesterol, I had previous
learned, is caused not only by diet, but also heredity, as is my case. When Dr. Tad said that my cholesterol could be controlled with a combination of acupuncture and herbal supplements, I was very
skeptical. He suggested that I stop taking the cholesterol medication, Crestor. I agreed since I thought that the Crestor may be contributing to my heel pain.I began my series of visits and
took the herbs as the doctor prescribed. Soon my heel began to feel better and I was able to exercise without pain! I was very happy. Still, I was no convinced my cholesterol was under control.
In March of this year, I had an appointment for my annual physical. I explained to my MD that I had stopped taking the cholesterol medications that he had prescribed and was seeing an acupuncturist. His
response was "We'll have your blood work done and see what happens." He was as skeptical as I was. When I received the results of my blood tests, I was absolutely amazed. I never expected to find that my
total cholesterol has dropped from 278 to 187. I am now a firm believer in the benefits of acupuncture and the Center for Preventive Medicine. — Michelle T., Lincoln, RI |
