Multiple Myeloma Multiple Myeloma
In March 2006, my world came crashing down on me. After a year of excruciating pain in my back and legs, numerous pain pills (which had no
effect) and an incorrect diagnosis of arthritis, an MRI showed something very wrong and I was admitted to the hospital. I was near death. I needed blood transfusions and I was in renal failure. A bone marrow
biopsy was performed and it show that I had Multiple Myeloma, a form of blood cancer which accounts for less than 1% of all cancers. I was also in Stage 3, the last stage. Multiple Myeloma cannot be cured,
it can only be treated. According to all statistics, a Stage 3 person has about an 18 month life span. I was put on a combination of Thalmid (the drug that caused all the birth defects in the 60's and 70's)
and Dexamethasone, a steroid. The steroid was taking its toll on me. It caused unbelievable mood swings, my body was totally swollen and it caused a weight gain of about 60 lbs. I no longer even looked like
myself. In order to help me cope with all of this, I joined the Multiple Myeloma support group. This is when I met Dr. Tad. He was a guest speaker at one of our meetings and offered a free
consultation. Within a week I had made an appointment and agreed to start treatment. With the help of Dr. Tad, I was able to eliminate blood pressure pills, most of the pain pills and most importantly, the
steroids. He has also helped me to start losing weight. My weight had risen to an all-time high of 316 lbs. and this week I weighed in at 276 lbs. I am still continuing to lose weight and I am taking all the
supplements which Dr. Tad recommended. As of this writing, I have been living with Multiple Myeloma for 27 months. I am in remission. While I do believe that American medicine has had a hand in helping me
reach this point, I have no doubt that without Dr. Tad and his medicine I would not be here today. PS: Dr. Tad is still treating me for neuropathy, a painful side effect of the drugs. — Paula G., W. Warwick, RI |
