Sciatic Nerve
Herniated Discs & Sciatic Nerve
Before I started on acupuncture, I was in constant pain in my left hip which radiated down my left leg to my ankle with numbness and tingling.I am a 46 year old construction worker. I was
diagnosed two herniated discs in my lower back. I couldn't remember any event or accident which caused my condition other than hard work and play over time. My primary care physician prescribed muscle
relaxers and anti-inflammatory which did not help. So I was referred back to a specialist who did an MRI to rule out any bone injury or disease which it did. He told me that I would heal over time and all he
could offer was relief from the pain. He prescribed cortisone injections and I went to PT, which seemed to do as much bad as it did good. Six months passed with no signs of getting better, so I knew it was
time to move on. I was only getting about 3 hours of sleep a night and always in pain. I could never find a comfortable position. I moved on to acupuncture feeling it would be less invasive than a
chiropractor. I met Dr. Tad in mid-August 2006 and started my treatment and herbs shortly thereafter. The treatments were painless and took about 45 minutes. I started off with three treatments a week, then
dropped down to two and now I am at once a week. I am writing this testimonial with about 7 or 8 treatments left. I am pain free, sleeping through the night, I have no tingling in my legs or ankles and no
limitations in work. As a bonus, my blood pressure has been lowered and I feel great!! I'm very happy with my results and will use acupuncture again. I would like to thank Dr. Tad and his staff at the Center
for Preventive Medicine. — Thomas J., Berkley, MA |
