is the founder and owner of the Center for Preventive Medicine.Dr. Tad was born in Poland and graduated from Medical School in 1982. His post graduate training took him to the Institute
of Female Disorders in Poland where he completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency obtaining board certification
in OB/GYN in 1987 and is currently licensed to practice medicine in 27 European Union Countries. During his
postgraduate years he intensively trained in emergency medicine and completed his internship in internal disease,
pediatrics and surgery. In 1987, he was nominated by the Polish Ministry of Health to conduct Preventive Health Studies
on over 100,000 women within a 25km radius (18 miles) from the planned construction site of the first Nuclear Power Plant in Poland. At this time, he also began his dissertation in cervical carcinoma.
However, in that same year, his passion for Chinese medicine brought him here to the United States. He commenced his studies of Acupuncture
and Oriental Medicine at the oldest college in the U.S., New England School of Acupuncture in Watertown, MA. While in school, Dr. Tad took
extracurricular courses on Japanese Acupuncture, including extensive pulse diagnosis, palpitation and disease pattern differentiation. In 1990, he
passed the national exam set forth by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
In 1995, he became the first President of the newly formed Rhode Island Society of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In 1998, he successfully
championed the passage of a bill increasing the educational standards for Acupuncturists. In 1999, he lobbied and helped to pass the first insurance
bill in the east (5th in the country) requiring coverage for Acupuncture via an insurance rider. This bill increased Acupuncture coverage from 0% to about 15-20% of Rhode Island's population.
Dr. Tad, founder of the Foundation for the Development of Integrative Medicine and Former Vice President of the American Association of Oriental
Medicine, has taught on the topics of Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine and many other health-related topics at various organizations and institutions
including Brown University Medical School, Rhode Island Hospital and Woman & Infants Hospital. In 2003, he was awarded the "Acupuncturist of the
Year" award for his work and leadership by the American Association of Oriental Medicine.
Dr. Tad currently owns one of the busiest and most renowned Oriental Medicine Clinics in the United States, Center for Preventive Medicine.
Established in September 1990, the Center for Preventive Medicine has assisted over 10,000 patients with their health problems, performing over
200,000 treatments for conditions ranging from allergies to chronic and debilitating illnesses such as cancer.
Dr. Tad's love for Chinese medicine has him currently working on bringing this 5000 year old medical system to the corporate world to promote
prevention and well-being while saving substantially on medical expense. He is in the process of publishing his new book on the use of Chinese Medicine in mainstream America.
Dr. Sztykowski and his wife, Kasia have four children: Zofia, Bart, Anna and Julia.
